change ENY
« on: May 29, 2010, 01:45:38 AM »
Tonight we had 7 more on but had an ENY of 29. Worst off tho was the fact we only had 4 bases. ENY needs to consider number of bases held. Also with low numbers the ENY gets greater with small differences.

Aww... 7 sounds so little, doesn't it?
But for good reasons, ENY doesn't care for absolute numbers. But for relative ones. 7 players can be 5% more.... or 500%.
107 to 100 players won't give you any ENY. 10 to 3 players will give you ENY 29. Both times "only 7 players more"

In other words: It was a low populated arena and the smallest enemy country had either one or none defender at all.

And why should ENY refelct number of bases? Bases do not fight, vulch, horde. They are just a place to take off from, and a player can only take off from one base at a time.

I was thinking the same thing.   :lol

ENY works both way (or all 3 ways, really).  There are how many aircraft to chose from, 80?  Shirley, there must be one you can find at all levels of ENY that will fill the role you're looking for.   :)   ;)

point is that it is silly to have eny when there's only 10 people in one country.

10-3 makes ENY limit "silly"? When one side is outnumbered 3 to 1?

You could always ya know, switch sides to the lower team. Then again that seems to be a terrible act for some people.

to be honest i think it is silly to go to an arena that only has 10 people.  however with 10 in one country you really think all 10 are going to be hitting the same target? doubtful.  most likely they will be porking several bases.  same as the 3 that are on the other country.  they will up and try to pork too, or perhaps go hit the 1 or 2 sets of buffs hitting a base. please dont include the whatever squad that "hordes" in one arena as being the same.

as for switching countries not my thing.

so now its 2v1 still funny that eny is there with such low numbers.  what happens when there's only 1 person online are all planes/gv disabled?

HEY I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!

The way to do away with the ENY is to force population to each country when you enter an arena.  In other words when you enter blue if the knights have the lowest number of players then it automatically puts you on the knights team, if it is the rooks, then you go there.  Which ever side is lowest DRAFTS you into their service.

NO MORE ENY  just the DRAFT ! ! ! !

Chief nailed it.

You have the choice to fly for the lower numbered side.

Or

You have the choice of putting up with ENY Limitations.

The choice is yours, just because you don't like either one doesn't mean you don't have choices.
Especially in the lower populated arena's you might want to reconsider that loyalty to a chess piece.

Who knows, you might make a few friends, or discover that those Bish, Knight, or Rook's are not such bad guys after all.

There actually is a minimum number of players that have to be online before ENY kicks in.

And btw, ENY never gets above 29. You will always be able to up a plane.
