ww1 arena's current state
« on: May 29, 2010, 01:46:14 AM »
i think the ww1 idea is viable...if you had a ww1 arena..the size and scope of 1 of the 2 MA's..with the same format..it would be a draw..why.because it would involve base takes...furballs ,horde's ect...of course it would need alot of build up..ie..era correct base ack..bombers..gv's"as such as they were"..and navy...  :aok ...i think to put it as i see as a avid..hunter..fisherman..trap per..on the right path..like a whitetail deer path..leads to the herd..i used to play a board game called dawn of ace's or something...HTC has stumbled onto a good overall idea ..there would entail alot more modeling..like period buffs...and i dont believe 3 countrys would work in a ww1 theme..another thing would NOT allow lets say if your country red<axis>..then you would have to dedicate to flying axis planes..same for blue<allied>..if it were to be more than 2 countrys..then make it as it was...usa/great britain/france/italy..russia iirc..vs the then axis powers..i really think HTC has a "sleeper" here..no other genre as far as i've seen could be done right unless HTC did it..not donut kissing just some1 who's played since ah1....discuss

Usually when people...want to differentiate their...ideas they use a paragraph break..that way it's easier to...read and it also looks like someone older...than 14 wrote it.

ww1 is more or less a ghost town. Loved it for 2 weeks then it just got old. More than 4 planes will help I am sure. When they get more planes and an idea to implement the "war" in there it will be a more viable option for people I believe.

I havn't been on much, but I was looking at the WW1 arena and at night it looks to be retired. I had fun in there and was looking to go in there but noone there. Must be earlier there is people there and I am not looking at the right time slot.

I don't think WWI was meant to be a full arena at all times like the MAs are, but just another option to add variety to someone who may be close to burned out in WWII or just wants a change of pace.

Still a WWII game, just a WWI option for kicks.

Good comments but I would say that if it is HTC's goal to revive the WWI arenas they know best what needs to be done.

I enjoyed WW1 until the novelty wore off... after a week or two the endless cycle of up, head to endless furball half way between bases, kill, get killed, wash, rinse, repeat got dreadfully monotonous. It's like playing basketball with no baskets, or football with no goals - it desperately needs something to focus the players' efforts.

What I don't get is why some people want to turn the MA into the same thing - and why they aren't enthralled with an arena that embodies their ideal game so perfectly.

You can have a premiere WWI experience without it being the focus of the game.

WW1 has no bomb tards, no GV's, no ships, no towns, no point. Had fun when #s were higher.

Yes, HTC needs to add bombers.  Some of those early tanks would be a hoot as well! Hell...might as well add zepplins :)
