Framerate help
« on: November 15, 2001, 05:29:00 PM »
OK what's the deal here my frame rates seem low for my card. I have a Creative Labs Geforce 2 Ultra on an Athlon 1100 O/C to 1200 Win 98SE Video Drivers are 20.83s. I score 4172 on 3DMark 2001. I have tweaked my BIOS to the Max to get that score on 3Dmarks 2001 think I started in the low 3000s. Over clocking my chip (Was running FSB at 200) now at 9X133 and loading 20.83s finally got me the performance I felt I should be getting with this card in  3Dmarks. It was a top performer in Warbirds at least going by fradims Warbirds and Aces high Benchmarking page. BTW anyone know what happened to that site Its been down a few weeks it seems?

Anyway in Aces High the Highest I seem to get is about 49 FPS in flight and 31 on the runway.
I think Vsnyc is on by default with 20.83s since I lost ability to tweak with Creatives utility. I downloaded GTU but have not tweaked my card further since I was happy with 3dmark scores. What do I need to do to increase frames in Aces High? What should I be getting? Thanks for any help.

Try limiting FPS to 60...that helped a guy in my squad. If you have the 21.83s you can enable the Coolbits control panel to overclock your card and set V-sync and all that. You have to edit your registry to do it, so it's not for the faint of heart. This site has instructions. They give instructions for the 12.41 drivers, but they still work for the newer Detonators too. http://www.kickassgear.com/coolbits.htm
