Sidewinder 3D Pro & Win ME Problems
« on: November 29, 2000, 03:08:00 PM »
Anyone else having trouble with this?

Using the gameport on a SB Live Value card, CUSL2 mobo, ASUS V7700 AGP card.

My computer has seizures every 25 seconds, offline, with the joystick in analog and digital mode.  In analog my framerates drop, but in digital framerates drop and the stick goes nuts (no pun intended).

I've got a thread going over on the Dogfighter Warbirds Hardware BB as well that more fully describes this sad saga.

In your Windows game controllers panel, do you have "poll with interrupts" checked?  If you do, try unchecking it.

When they've turned on you, Tory and Whig,

You'll never go wrong with a pig!"

Yep - that's the first thing I tried.

I actually disconnected the joystick and removed it from the game controller profile.

My fps still dips to <10 every 25-28 seconds for 5-10 seconds.

I don't think it's the joystick now.  The joystick problem is a symptom of some system problem. :P
