Boeing B-17G Yankee Lady
« on: May 30, 2010, 05:30:17 PM »
This weekend was the big Jones Beach airshow. While it is a great show, sharing the beach with 200,000 people isn't pleasant. So, this year we headed to Republic Airport, where bulk of the airshow aircraft are based. B-17G Yankee Lady was there, and I had an opportunity to get some photos with my Canon and monopod.

And, a few more of various other aircraft you should recognize... ;)

My regards,

Nice pictures, Thanks

They are.  But he had an F-105 he COULD have taken a photo of to show us and he didn't.

I say we send him back to finish the job.

The Corsair is a beauty, but I can't STAND that paint scheme.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I volunteer in Restorations at the Yankee Air Museum and get to touch that 17 every time I go to the Hangar.    Our B-25 D35 is the oldest flying B-25 as well.

Thanks for the nice pictures.    :airplane:

I saw her today at the wings over Gaylord airshow today and climb inside her. I was very close to the flight line and got goosebumbs on her first low flyover. :rock

If you want, I can go to the aerospace museum over the weekend and get pictures.

I live about 3 miles away from republic. Could just walk there right now.
