Lucky you...

Back when I had LOMAC and got bored, I'd take up an A10 with unlimited munitions and blow up the cities. :D

yeah its quite fun..the graphics are quite good and it is not very complicated to play, but I find Air to Air combat rather boring, as so far..the only enemy plane I have seen is a small green box on my hud...I like the game but would rather fly the a10 or SU25...might give DCS Blackshark a try when I get some free time.

Ok, so here is what i need to know, from those of you who play this.

What would I need to buy, if I have never played this and want to.  I have the first lock-on.  I can install it if need be, but is FC and expansion or completely different game?  Are there any patches or mods that are essential to have it or does it run well stock out of the box?

You just get the upgrade...its 29 bucks

When you install FC 2.0...you have to have LOMAC installed.

The FC 2.0 is a complete stand alone install and only checks for LOMAC at the point of installation.

You can delete LOMAC after FC 2.0 has been installed

You can download it at Lockon...in three chunks and its pretty darn slow...

Much better to use a torrent client...way faster....scroll to the bottom of the Lockon download page for the torrent

Official LockOn Torrent: http://lockon.co.uk/torrents/LO_Flaming_Cliffs_2_EN.torrent

As far as add-ons go get them from LockOnFiles: http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php

You will need to register to have access to the downloads....

First off you need to get ModMan....which makes installing and managing Add Ons very simple...

If you use TrackIR you definitely want the SimMod 6DOF add-on...it allows for Six Degrees of Freedom head movement...get the one with the A10 cockpit patch...

Also get the SimMod A10 pack for additional A10 skins

Out

Oneway

Purchase: http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop

I've got DCS: Blackshark and I love it, through at times I just cannot get the bloody thing to behave quite right...

That's modern BVR combat. If you don't like it, never ever bother with F4AF. I get WVR on less than a quarter of my air to air kills.

I do enjoy it still, its just taking along time to get to grips with it, but this month I dont have much time to play any of my games :( I am longing to get a sortie on AH yet..
