If the resolution the monitor supports was not listed in the Aces High video options, then that means you do not have the proper INF file loaded for the monitor.  By manually setting the resolution, the video card may not use the proper signaling to establish that resolution and could lead to damage to your monitor.

The resolutions the game show, is all the resolutions the monitor reports to support.  We do not hide any resolutions.

Skuzzy,  ( this might be a bit off topic )

would using a DVI to VGA connector from the video card to the monitor or vice versa have any effect on what the OS might pick up as offered resolutions?  even though the correct INF file is loaded for the Monitor?

The converter should not effect the resolution choices, if the correct INF is loaded.

Never had an issue with it myself, I use one since my PS3 is hooked up to the same monitor and hogs the only DVI ports so I use VGA on the computer. On the other hand you still only get VGA quality but that's no surprise.

yes that INF file is basically the Monitor's driver

also you stated you play in 1024 x 768...... that is not a considered a "Wide Screen Resolution"..... if you infact have a wide screen monitor.....

also note that the minimal recommended setting per HTC info to use the 1024 HI RS textures is 1280 x 1024 ( not sure what the minimal is for a wide screen monitor )

when downloading your monitors driver file, just create a folder on your HD

example 1: C:\DELL Monitor\     example 2: C:\computer and component files\  ( I do something similar to keep all the drivers and utilities in one place on my PC's HD, this is not really necessary but saves me time in possible future scenarios when needing o find an important fileto any of my PC's components, monitors, etc )

download the .inf file to any area or folder then go open the folder and right click on the .inf file then click install... you should be good to go from there.....

Good Luck, mbailey, hope this helps......
