I know I sound like a complete nerd.
« on: June 12, 2010, 11:53:12 AM »
At this very moment on C-SPAN Book TV is this live ASTOUNDING interview with author Jack Rakove speaking about the Revolutionary War.

It's almost over now, but with a little bit o' bloomin' luck it'll be repeated 14 hours from now at 3 AM Eastern or whenever or you missed it, sistah.

Be there or be square.

Ok, you are nerding it for sure. The person who watches it at 0300 Eastern is 1337 nerd.

Just sayin...  :D

Not doing the 2 am thing. But here's an interesting lecture, close to the same topic maybe. :)

It was very interesting. His discussion on the thoughts behind making of the constitution (around 42 minutes into this clip) is something so elementary that would have never in a million years entered my mind had I not heard him say it.

Thanks for suggesting, TEShaw.

I also found interesting the part right after that, TXMom.  Where he discusses that since the lower house is popularly elected (and therefore should represent the people), then why have an upper house. (and who do they represent)

Recall that before the 17th amendment that senators were selected by the state legislatures.
