I am not a soccer fan, but saw the last half of the game by coicidence of being in a spot that was airing it.  I thought the US looked totally outplayed positionally and outclassed by a team that was very much it's superior.  Had it not been for the gaff by the English goalie, it would have been a different story.  That said, the US goalie played phenomenal from what I saw.

I'm a little late to this thread but who cares :). I thought it was a good game. I was scared in the first 5 minutes when the US couldn't hold any possesion and looked scared out of their wits. They held on though and had some good patches throughout the game (wishing for some more consistency). I was especially suprised at the job that Cherundolo did against Milner and Wright-Phillips.  I thought both would have their way with him. That said Glen Johnson? (the right back) moved down his side anytime he pleased. We were very lucky he couldn't convert any of his opportunities. Finally, I'd just like to see a little better strike partner for Altidore. I wasn't too keen on either of the two dudes that played with him.

good spot on glen johnson.  He gets an awful lot of stick from england fans for not being a good enough defender.  I however believe he is one of the best right backs in the tournament.  When he does attacking runs and puts the ball in the back of the net  (see his goal against mexico in the warm up friendly 3:23) i don't hear no moaning from the fans then  :aok.  He learn't all he knows at fratton park and I was sad to see him go but we needed the cash.

Warning.... do not watch this vid if you are weak of heart. I have seen several of these happen in high school scholastic wrestling.
i.e. 2:24 and 2:27 among others

That aside, all sports have their injuries and the fans who watch the sports  :salute

Our games tend to be a bit more physical here in the colonies. Conquering the wilderness and escaping oppression and all  :D
The US Goalie took a cleat to the chest early in the first half. They thought he fractured a rib. Turns out he broke his rib, but continued to play very well.
