A few nights ago, after a night of online gaming, I was shutting my compooter down and I got this weird Fatal Error message. (no, naturally I did not write it down) Anyway upon restarting my comp the next morning I noticed that I could not complete a connection. My modem would dail up and connect, but after that it would do nothing. I try MSN messenger, and Microsquish Internet Exploder, but they keep giving me the old, "Cannot find this page" stuff. It seems like my comp isn't even trying to connect. Any help would be great.

Yo Beefy,
A while back i used to get the odd fatal error mainly from messenger or direct x
I also got page won't load, But i only got that when i used my www button on my keybaord to connect, If i used a shortcut to my isp which i had on my desktop it would connect (weird ehh lmao)

As always recheck your modem settings and run its diagnostics in the modem property part just to make sure it's still alive n kicking

Other than settings n checking modems alive you can give a shortcut to dialup a try

EDIT:Clear history etc too and if you've got IE6 drop the cookie/security settings down a notch to see if you can get a connection

check under the 'hood', and make sure that your modem is connected correctly and/or fried
