Last week, I lost my glasses, couldn't get my dvd to work, and my computer crashed. I used that computer to study for the cpa exam so it was near and dear. I kept telling myself well I got the garden done to a little relief.
Then Friday I found my glasses. Oh that made things go a little better.
Then last night I got the dvd player to work. Been trying to watch "Taken". Now I usually set these things up with absolutely no issues. However, the lighting behind the TV was poor. So I look for my flashlight. Finally found it under the computer desk. Batteries dead. Buy batteries but the darn thing wouldn't work. Then accidently bumped it against the dish drainer it comes on. Geeze! Start looking at the cables for the dvd player. I run them from the player to the tuner and from the tuner to the tv using Component connections. Now if there is one guy that amuses me and irritates more than anyone else its me! Last night I decided to run the cable directly from the DVD player to the TV. Welp when I pulled the cables, I said, (never mind what I said). Anyway I had amazingly, inconceivably, used, not the component cables, but the cables with the S video and the RCA jacks. Okay it was dark remember. That's what I am going with. Still how in the world did I believe the S video was fitting into the component jacks. Lordy. The S video is even clearly marked on the cable. So I got the thing working. Well after also figuring out the blue and green components were switched.
As for the computer, I decided just to use the gaming rig. The HD was still good from the crashed computer so I have been using it as an external drive. Copied the necessary files to continue my studies and loaded the programs I use. I have literally hundreds of files from my studying. However I only needed to copy a couple of folders to get going again.
So the week ended fairly well. Which was a great relief.
