Stability

  Patches and/or updates roughly once a week since March.

Kinda makes me miss WB 2.7... at least it's stable.   :bolt:

It just happens that you migrated over at a time that's rife with patches. That is, assuming you're a new member coming in from FA/WB. HTC is taking a step in a new direction with their sound code and the windowed startup. They both have their purposes, but the implementation is giving HTC a hard time. We've gone for quite a long long time in the past without updates. In fact (no offense to HTC intended) they are often rather sparse updates.

Luck of the draw, I suppose. This current slew is atypical, to be sure.

You can call it stability, or you can call it inactivity.

Personally I much prefer times when it is obvious that Aces High is alive, well and bursting at the seams.
New patch's, new features, new planes, tanks, etc. Those are all signs of a vibrantly alive sim.

You can have boring stability, I'll take alive and growing every time.

Or a happy medium for me. Big new update = 3 or so weeks worth of patches to fix some bugs. Then two months or so of "stability". Works for me. Still hoping for the Ki-43/44 and the Betty, but I know HTC must be busy.

Agreed.

Don't forget, alive and growing also equates to a healthier game with lots of subscribers. Without that, no game will be around for long.

AH needs an auto updater so it updates while you are sleeping.

If it did that most folks would never know :)

Yeah, me too.....  I'd rather play an out of date game that has no plans to get better.  You should probably start up your own company dude..........  Cause your business mind is really on point.

Aside from dial up players, the patches take like 2 minutes.... Not even enough time to go to the head.

What is your problem?

Really?
I think they should scrub the whole game and start again with 6 planes. I loved going through the beta.

Only if they run the price back up to 30$ a month or higher to weed out some of the squeekers and nancy boys.

Best thing about the beta and the early years was that it was a fairly small group. 100- 150 people, pretty much policed itself with peer pressure. Thats the good side. The bad side was when you saw a pair of la5's you knew you were about to be schooled by aknimitz and his wingman.

There was not much in the way of bombing to do at all. I remember when the B17 came in, didn't have a bombsight.

Beta maps worked fine for 150 but I don't think they'd work so well with over 700.

I miss those days at times, but really, these days are better.

How many ah og's does it take to change a lightbulb?

100. 1 to change it and 99 to complaint about the good ole times.
