Joystick help
« on: August 24, 2001, 08:43:00 PM »
i've been using my old TM x-fighter with ch pro-pedals for a couple years. since i upgraded my vid card & dx8 i get a 'not conected' msg. i also have a logitec wingman that it cant seem to see either.  i really need to get a stick working now that i can afford the MA again.

1. so is my stick just too old to use with new equipment?
2. is there something i can change or a utility that will alow me to continue using my stick?
3. can i use a usb stick and still plug in my pedals to the gameport? if so how do i set that up.

thanks for any help.

Have u reinstalled the controllers since the Dx8 upgrade?  Have u tried reinstalling the drivers since the dx8 install?

I know there are some guys using CH Pro peds non-USB.  It may well be time to replace the stick...

I used to use a USB Ppro with a TM wheel and pedal combo(non-USB).  I used the pedals from the combo with my stick in Aces.  You just select which controller axes control what in game.  I had no problems at all.

Ok I reinstalled my soundcard drivers and it can now see my stick (thanks skurj) however if I select rudders it says 'not connected' if I  de-select rudders it can see the stick, even when the stick is plugged in through the rudders. So I guess it's the rudder where the problem lies
