If you watch closely, the loud behemoth in the pink stepped into and went "hands on" vs that LEO while he was engaged with the gal in the black. Once a perp' goes hands on, especially in a hostile environment, that LEO is going to (and has the SCOTUS on his/her side) preserve his/her safety. If any of you armchair officers think this guy went too far you are sadly mistaken. Notice how he stopped with the one punch and went "hard hands" once he was able to get that gal on the defense.
I'd be willing to bet that he received an bellybutton chewin' for striking her in the head because we were taught to not ever hit the head. He could just as easily delivered a nasty forearm blow to her chest and knocked her on her soft cushy bum.
I wore the star of a deputy from the fall of 2001 through the fall of 2007. I know how that kind of stuff happens and until you experience it first hand it is best those quick to lash their tongues be very cautious with your judgment. Did anyone see the Rodney King video? ... ... the entire video? Odds are, probably not. King made 6 of those guys look like rag dolls as he tossed them over the hood of the car and shrugged off punches and batons. But you didnt see that, the media only showed Coon whippin his ankles and thighs with a PR-24, which was (and sstill is) actually a legit "pain compliance" technique, but they didnt know he was high on PCP (PCP makes a person feel no pain).
