                  I'd like to see the old strats back please  :pray . flying an hour or 2 is not fun for some of us.

I had high hopes when the new strats got released, in the past, bomber pilots needed to level bomb airfields to have an effect on game play.

Unfortunately, the new strat system is so far behind the lines it is still easier for them to just bomb hangers at a field. Not to mention, a single person can effect a field but it takes more than just one guy to effect strats or HQ. As much as they irritate me sometimes, I feel bad for the bomber guys because of this.

My suggestion would be to re-implement the zone system by adding 2 or 3 strat targets per country and put them a little closer to the front.

Add the little strats back into the game and keep the big one way in the back for the huge bomber missions.

Little strats effect the down time of the stuff in their little zone, big strats effect the down time of the little strats.

(When the strats where redesigned there were a lot of remarks like "Now you milkers have to FIGHT" - No, we do not. We just have switched targets, in some way milking is easier than ever before. Bombing a few towns gives you more bang for buck than trying to hit the ack & Me 163 infested city target.).

My proposal:
- Keep the new strats, but make them worth more. Give them an incentive to fly 1h across the enemy airspace. Score  ain't the worst one for that.
- In place of old strats, add some railyards (and reintroduce the old zones) Let them have some mild supply modifier for all corresponding bases. That way medium bombers will have targets again, enemy bomber missions are not that predictable anymore, and there may be the old "ZONE BASE UNDER ATTACK!" cry again :) Also railyards are really a thing that's missing from a premier WW2 combat experience!

Whatever it is, it needs to be worth it for us to attack, and for them to defend it FROM BEING ATTACKED. Currently we've done long strat runs, and we see defenders AFTER the damage is already done. The targets need to be exceptionally valuable/highly contested.

Couldn't agree more. This would increase the value of the long bomber missions and create intermediate targets that also impact outcomes.
Would make a helluva good way for squads/countries to execute tactics with an overarching strategy in mind. More historically accurate too.  Lots of gun camera footage of fighters conducting strafing runs on railyards on the way home from escorting bombers.     :x

Indeed. Could see it now...get ponies and jugs in a mission escorting...jugs would dive down and attack the railyards after they had been bombed by the bombers.

Heck, I'd just be happy to be flying at a strat, and when I am almost ready to drop, watch it NOT retreat so my entire flight isn't wasted. After the 3rd time that happened, I stopped even bothering with strats. As has been said in previous replies, it is not worth the effort, time, or anything for that matter.

I will vouch for having more OBJ facilities to bomb that are true to the role of the light and medium bombers.  I used to be able to up fast moving and fast climbing Bostons zoom in at 12k ft (or lower) at near 320mph and drop ordnance on a facility and get out of there safely.  Now, I can only really use the Bostons (or other light/medium bombers) vs CV's or towns.  Bostons cant even get to the new strategic targets waaay back in the rear (not that Bostons were used in that manner much anyways, but still).

Perhaps we can re-introduce the old OBJ targets and have them effect the strategic system in a very minute way?  Or, better yet design some other type of strategic targets that are missing from the game and place them within rage of the light and medium bombers.  Rail yards? Manufacturing facilities? Dry docks?

What about adding in ship convoys or air convoys that supply bases on another land mass? This would implament more use in torpedo runs.

Make the Strat bigger & add aircraft factories & such as I have heard of before I came along. So when the bombers show up fighters will up to defend & if they don't fighter hangars go down for a while...... A long while. :D
