Wow, I said something completely bassackwards. My bad. I think what I meant to say is I think Packard did make a liscenced Rolls Royce. I have no idea what I was trying to say in the previous comment.

IMO, lisencing and that crap goes out the window in a time of war. Everyone who can will make the most powerfull engine currently being built, and give it to whoever needs it the most.

he's also in my squad and is a great pilot. who gives a crap if hes 13? tell him to ease up on the talking and he will. He's mature enough for us. He can be for you too, just tell him to stop talking.don't get him started on his cars or plane engines :lol  he knows what he talks about. Even gave me a few pointers about the P38s Rolls Royce Allisons i didn't know about. I didn't even know the 38 HAD Allisons.

He may think he knows engines but he definitely does not know anything about the Lightning, there wasn't a single P-38 that was ever outfitted with a Rolls Royce engine.  The reason why you never heard of the pointers he gave you is because the pointers were incorrect.

Packard built Merlins under license, but to my knowledge RR never built Allisons under license... why would they?

Man I dont even know where to start with this...... I'm not a very good fisherman so I think I'll toss this off to one of the better bait handlers.

It's a good thing only you care about "IMO" because you have no idea what your talking about.

PS: dont you have a pillow to bury??

I've noticed you're not the only one recently either, did the History channel fub another documentary somewhere?  I've heard a couple people in the past year led to believe the Allison engine came outa Rolls Royce.

I think I recall the history channell spitting out something like that once, and they kept flashing to a picture of a four cannon pony.
