I used a MS SideWinder 3D Pro for 3 to 4 years before buying my X36USB. Compared to that, the X36USB is a chef-d'oeuvre of ergonomics.
There is also the matter of price. The Combatstick's only 4-way hat switches are unacceptable to me, so at first I was going to wait for the USB Fighterstick. But I got a Saitek joystick AND a throttle for a price similar to a Fighterstick...
It's obvious that the X36USB will not please most previous CH gear owners. But to users who only every had known cheap everything-on-it joysticks, it's a big improvement and a pretty good choice.
