If you want to play for top rank in Fighters just find as many bombers as possible & shoot as many as possible in the shortest amount of time. In reality that is not so easy to do finding bombers all the time.

If you want to get your GV rank high quick take the new Sherman with the rockets & drive to the nearest shore  battery & let 42 of them rip & you just improved your rank many positions.

Bombers find the biggest fat target you can find & drop the least amount of bombs that get you the best return throw in a couple of Goon captures & you will be in the top ten.

It's not hard to do playing for rank I just don't find it a lot of fun when it becomes a job to get it.

You need to realize that score in this game in no way reflects totally on someones ability to play the game.  For example last tour I think i ranked in the 80's, this tour im ranked well over 1000.  Biggest difference is i havn't captured a base with a goon or GV, i dont even think i have a fighter sortie yet.  I havnt bothered to do the few little things that seriously affect your score and rank.  Im still the same player i was last month but the numbers, if taken as just a number, would say other wise.

Current top fighter pilot, Grizz, has only very few bombers in his kill list at all ;)

 :aok

My own buff rank would rake up high if I had a base capture in a goon... and my overall rank would go up as well. It's just that I find flying goons way too boring most of the time ;)

It got boring a long time ago......  Every once in while I get the urge to put the numbers down but only in MW and its usually just to prove to the other "score-potato" that he isn't special at all.

Yes but he normally has a lot of hours in that offset my point of getting rank fast as possible with the least amount of effort.

You could also say: Find a CV that's dominating an enemy airbase, and go vulching... will beat the buff huntin stuff every day ;)

True & up a Chog & it will help no end. Buffs are the biggest pay day though for fighter mode biggest risk & are rewarded with the bigger score.... If you can find enough of them. :)

ok, back to the damage scoring. How do you get more damage points? By killing the planes? or simply wounding them?

But when vulching your K/H goes through the roof, beating the bomber's kill point advantage .

In a vulch situation yes. Hit percentage on buffs though will always be better.

No necessarily. When you vulch with a cannon bird, near misses will hit by blast radius and count as hits too.

Which goes back to the basic question.  Why should a guy with 10 sorties be ranked higher than a guy with hundreds of kills and sorties.  there's more guys ranked in the top 100 that are logged in today with less than 50 sorties some have less than 20. score rewards few sorties vulching then stop playing in fighter mode for the rest of the month.

Why should he not?  ;)

The number of kill points has exactly 20% influence on you fighter rank. Why should that go higher? Why should I get a higher fighter rank, just because I have no life and log absurd hours in this game?
