..and I'm not letting the guy off that easy. If you know you will shoot below by a certain amount then all you have to do is to aim that much higher.

People shooting at stuff that could ricochet is pure retardation. The gun range that i go to has lots of rocks, and (nothin against you if ya have one) but its usually people with AR15s that shoot at em, and you hear the bullets ricochet. Thats when i pull out my polish M44 and set up next to him, and start shootin. The shockwave will mess up his aim and make him want to leave

That's hollywood. All the common .50 round types will simply make a hole and plenty of cracks in those three objects and I don't expect them to use anything other than bulk ammunition (ball, best for the entertainment value with this type of targets).

A hollow point round of lesser caliber could be interesting to watch in extreme slow motion.
