yep seems everytime i've watched a video lately its been silent because youtube has removed the soundtrack.
I don't think they don't know it yet but their ruining themselves.

You can't really blame YouTube for it, companies want to protect their copyrighted material and they have the right to do so.  It's your opionion if that is right or wrong but YouTube has to respect those copyright laws.  The latest Google v. If you video is informational you can contest the copy right and win every time.

I have a firefox ad blocker so i don't see any of those ads

Well , how is Vimeo getting away with it (copy rights) ? There site is 100 time's the site youtube was or will ever be and there going down fast with those adds and so on .

I for one have never heard of Vimeo before this thread, once their videos start getting as many as YouTube's does, then the companies will likely start protecting their copyright laws there. The company will need more money to grow and fight all the lawsuits, so they'll start selling ads before their videos until a new site comes along.  However, YouTube has become a name synonymous with the internet, like google (who own's them) and I don't see it going away any time soon.

What makes Vimeo so much better?  I've been playing around with it and don't see anything special.

Seem's they don't delete your music in your video's like youtube and you don't have the ads .
