CV film question

I have tried to get some gun footage...I have been the gunner of an 8" and 5" during a CV battle and of course town/base destruction...I save the film hoping to get and make something with it...but when I view the film I get nothing but the CV steaming away and no guns or action of any kind...I will click a name that is in a plane nearby and I have all the view as normal guns going and all.... click back to myself in gun position and I get the CV steaming off again and I'm/camera is sitting in one spot...Is this something with what I am doing...a dud film...or is it not something that can not actually be captured within the AH system?

something is wrong with the film viewer i think !!! as far as CV's go,,, i can not get a good film of take off and landings either
 gonna have to use fraps i guess!
