I remember when they outlawed the little bottle rockets here because they were "too dangerous". I can buy the equivalent to a clusterbomb on the side of the highway now but none of those damn bottlerockets!!

we used to have "ship to shore" fights with bottle rockets when we were kids. in reality, it was our row boat.  :rofl

I am not any sort of expert. But don't shoulder fired missles track the heat signature? Why under the nose? Why did it miss? A small commuter plane would be flying straight and level. Seems a modern shoulder fired missle shouldn't have trouble making a hit.

if it was a missle, question is who has it, how they got it, and how they got it in America.
if it was a missile, it would have hit the airliner unless it was the world's shoddiest missile ever     if it was a rocket... maybe the guy was a good shot or drunk. by the way, its Fox News guys. Look up a different source please. Fox has a tendency to warp reality to their favor.

You are aware that not everything manmade works perfectly every time, right?  That most definitely
includes weapons, not that I'm saying this was a manpad.  Too often Hollywood tends to stretch the bounds
of reality and affects some's perceptions.
