May I ask what exactly you use e6b for?  I only use it to check estimated range/time when my fuel level is low.

Also great for getting a perfect calibration in bombers.

Finding max cruise settings for an unfamiliar plane.

Really it's any alt level bombing, and sometimes max cruise is good for just stretching those last few drops to get you home.

Range, time, GPH, true speed, indicated speed, max cruise...pretty much everything that's given on there.

Sometimes its a question of whether you have the fuel to fight and still make it home. Sure there are a lot of people that bail after the fighting is over. Not everyone thinks like that and its wrong to try and force people into an alien way of thinking.

not against the dot command.  It is usfull but more like wondering why people have it open more than a few seconds to check.  I was flying a pony the other day, not a familiar plane, checked and saw that had 15 min left at full throttle.  minus 7 for rtb fuel left me with 8.  Which I stretched into almost twenty of air cap.  Few uppers. did it without having to check e6b every second.  U guys should really try to micro manage your planes.

Wanting a .e6b command doesn't mean that we check our e6b every second, it doesn't mean we don't understand the plane, we didn't say that.  We utilize it, you utilize it, who put it in your head that we're looking at this thing every second?

I don't see the big deal semp. It's a simple dot command I understand you say you aren't against it but it seems like you are.

Not against the dot command it is a great idea.  Was replying to the others that have it open all the time to fly.

Again, no one said that.  I usually have E6B like AWwrgwy mentioned, bring it up, then use Esc to bring it back up, but sometimes I have to close it to look at something else.  A dot command isn't going to make a huge difference either way, but some people might find it handy.  Finding it handy doesn't mean we constantly stare at the thing.

The only way I would find it useful is if it provided a fixed, onscreen display such as damage or calibration. Might be a bit easier to utilize in the bomb site. Perhaps a duel functionality - dot command fixed on the screen, esc on the clipboard.
