why kill sheeps my framerate (and airfields too)
« on: December 22, 2000, 01:19:00 PM »
Hi

I have a framerate problem when i fly near ground with clutter on and sheeps or when iīm flying toward/over a field.

Framerate drops in both cases from ~30-35 down to 11-15.

Trees donīt have such a big influence as clutter.

The strange thing is that when my framerate drops, the frequency of the sound drops too a bit (like a slight decrease in RPM) and it sounds a bit rougher.

The problem occured after i changed from an old i740 video card to a elsa erazor 3 pro.

My system is
K6-2 450 (i know that this is a weak processor)
chaintech 5agm2 mainboard 128mb
soundblaster 16

I tried several driver (detonator 3, elsa, at the moment 5.22), always the same.  I never had this problem with my old 8MB i740 video card, especially the change in the sound now makes me wonder.

Does someone know a tip to improve graphic performance near a field?

thx
niklas

dont worry, usually i turn of clutter.

The problem are the fields and with 1.05 the fleet.

And here is another strange graphic error with my new elsa erazor 3 pro

When i fly over a field, hangars disappear suddenly. Ships too, suddenly the carrier is away and it only slowly "comes back".

i canīt understand it, never had such graphic problems with my old and slow i740.

thx for every help
