So, I decided to go ahead make this its own thread. For the next GV...

I nominate the Churchill Tank. Specifically the Mk. 4, 7 and 8.

Mk. 4:(1,622) The IV was the most numerous Churchill produced, and was virtually identical to the III, the largest change being a return to the less costly cast turret. (Mk. III weilded a 6 pounder (84 rounds))

Mk. 7:( 1,600 with VIII) The second major redesign from previous models, the VII used the 75 mm gun, was wider and had much more armour. It is sometimes called the Heavy Churchill. This version of the Churchill first saw service in the Battle of Normandy, and was re-designated A42 in 1945.

Mk. 8: A Churchill VII which replaced the main gun with a 95 mm howitzer (47 rounds).
Refitted previous versions. (Could be usefull for knocking down buildings and hangars. I suggest it just be a different package for the 7 though, instead of being an entirely different slot.)

The reason I nominate this series of tanks, is because the Brits really only have one tank to call their own, even though it is just a variant really. This would give the Brits 2 tanks, the Germans 2 tanks, the Russians 2 tanks, and the Americans 2 (not including the M8)

The Churchill is a painfully slow tank.  If anyone thinks the 25mph gv's (M4's, Pzr Mk IV, Tiger, feet dry LVT, SdKfz 251, etc) take forever to get to their respective destinations, try going 15mph (or 12 in some Churchill variants).  I applaud the idea, as I would love to tinker with it, but its success would be very limited due to its slow speed, lackluster AP gun (same 75mm M3 of the US M4A3 75mm Sherman), and average at best armor protection.

The ONLY exception would be if AH implemented the Churchill variant with the faster firing 57mm Q.F. 6 Pounder Mk.V L / 50 cannon with the available APDS Shot Mk.I ( Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot ).  Then, it would have outstanding AP characteristics (only the Firefly and Tiger are superior in AH!!!), the only question would be how many rounds of that fast moving AP round would it get?

I want a truck, to tow some arty.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

I think the He-111, Betty, and Yak-3 would be great additions.
Ooops...this is a tank thread? Oh well.

Strictly for the sake of discussion, what role would light tanks play in the game?  They would have to have some niche, like better in town performance, or be air mobile (with the Me 323).

Similar to the M8 Greyhound.  But with better crosscountry performance.

But, you have a good point.

Unfortunately, "cross country" is  immaterial at the moment,   :(   Other than dodging trees.

I wish roads had a purpose vs. cross country.

First off, +1 to this. Would love to see it, and the mk II  for EW use (had a 2lb 40mm AT gun.)

Second, Thrash99, you are just about as wrong as you can get there. The LVT has a '75, and not much armor. The churchill would be much harder to stop (given it IS a bigger target).

I would also like to see the following:

M18
M12 (dead serious here. This would be the ULTIMATE town killer. And seeing as you can kill tanks with the 8", you should be able to do it with this. It would also be about as easy to kill as an M8, so no worries there)
KV-1
T-70
Hetzer (light perk, maybe. It would depend on how much the visibility and limited traverse would come into play)
Jagdpanther (heavily perked)
SdKfz 251/22
Marder II
M4A3E8 (a decent perk price, seeing as it had thicker armor than the tiger. But its gun was still about at par with the Panzer's)

Long list, but all would add to the game, and I would love to see them all added eventually.

... and as odd as this sounds; the LVT-4 is FASTER on solid ground, too.
