Wasn't Steinbrenner a character portrayed in Seinfeld when 'George Costanza' worked for the Yankees?

They always made him look crazy...

Bad week for the Yankees, first Bob Sheppard and now Steinbrenner.  At least Billy Martin will get to be with Steinbrenner again.

Yup and that's how I'll remember him too, hilarious stuff.  That and firing and hiring the same couple of managers over and over back in the days when that ball club wasn't very good.

Yep he fired Billy Martin 5 times I think.

"Winning is the most important thing in my life, after breathing," George Steinbrenner once said. "Breathing first, winning next."

 don't even go there... Sox fan since my first game at the age of 6 like pigs here. That's the true rivalry and don't forget the Yankees/Mets rivalry...

But still, Steinbrenner was great for the Yankees and it is sad to see him go. <S>
I am in need of a new epic quote
