One more, then I will shut up.
Its obvious HiTech is quite content with how they market or not market there business. I know I hit a sore point with the website comment. But why dont you answer these two questions that I originally posed?

Why does HiTech not thank its customers with a receipt? Its a real common western custom, and I didnt know MMO was an industry.

Why when I log on you have one arena choked at 100 and the other arena is open with less then 40 players? Its not a routing issue and its certainly not due to a bunch of people beating down the door. I would think the game is more enjoyable and interesting when more players are competing at once.

Yes I can read and what I didnt see was why a customer didnt have the other two questions answered? A fairly simple request.

willy928, I have been trying to drop you the hint that I will not discuss the marketing of AH.

I have no desire to give out information on the why we do what we do on the questions you ask.

Your other question about why arena caps has been described by us many times and your free to search.

In five years I have sent 3 emails and never recieved a reply I guess your busy marketing.
As far as arena caps I just thinks its a shame when you have less then 150 suscibers online your limited to an arena with less then 30 people.
To the Mr. "Knite" I auto pay everything and I get either a "Your account will be charged" or "Your account was debited" statement. I am pretty most want to know what the gas and electric think you owe them.

C'mon guys.  We really shouldn't be so hard on a guy that seeks validation of his existence from his credit card receipts.

You seem to be assuming there is a problem and issue here when there is none.

Are subscriptions and the player base growing?  Yes.

Do we want the subscribed player base to continue steadily growing?  Yes.

Do we care if our MMO player base can compete or is as large or successful as World of Warcraft, The Sims, or Facebook Poker?  No... this "game" is more of a passion and hobby to many subscribers, moreso than your run-of-the-mill MMO community that usually thrives around being brought together in the newest, latest and greatest genere of their preffered entertainment.  Those players are more like sheep following the popular and trendy MMO herds on the open plains of the internet.

Will HTC ever spend as much on advertising as franchises such as Coca-Cola, Geico Insurance, EA Sports, <insert the latest hottest slop for the trow of the masses here> reality TV show, etc. to become a common name around the house?  No.

Does HTC need to spend more on advertising to become (out of either desire or necessity) as big as Coca-Cola, EA Sports, Activision, etc.?  No.

Do we want HTC to spam us with as much junk email as the "big boys"?  No.

Do we want HTC to inform us of every single action involving our accounts (particularly normal and "as it should be" activity)?  No.

Gas and electric rates vary, of cource if you've ever paid a utility bill you'd be well aware with the differences between a variable monthly utility rate (liek the gas, electric, water, phone... and don't even get me started on variable taxes per the rate of your consumption and per your local tax laws) and a fixed service-fee rate (like AH), my AH has cost me $15 flat last month, this month, next month, and the past umpty-hundred months.  They don't need to email me every month saying "thanks for another $15, enjoy the game", and if I was given the option to be notified or not, I would choose not to be.

Do I want more junk mail in my email?  No.  Do I want yet another random alert telling me about something new in a game while I'm trying to finish up a presentation in the office with the hopes of getting home before midnight?  F!@#in' hell no!  Would I rather it be posted on the front page of HTC's site for me to view and further explore at my leisure?  Yes.

/nitpick mode on

If you started 10 years ago then the price was $30 a month.  :D

/nitpick mode off

I have been playing MMORPG's since 2001 and I have never gotten a receipt from a company for any monthly fees. The only thing I get is a note on my credit card report that says it auto paid the bill on this date and time, that's it.

I get enough junk mail as it is, I don't need every MMORPG sending me a paper or email receipt that I payed a bill every month.

That wasnt my point!

The problem with the point you're trying to make is that there is a customer service problem but in reality there is no such CS issue stemming from the fact HTC does not send out a reciept or other form of payment acknowledgement.  As has already been mentioned, it's just not done in this industry because there is no real tangible benefit from doing so.

Invariably, the folks who are most unhappy with map-choice, plane-choice, game-play, are those who have been here the shortest. If you constantly need new stuff to keep interested, you probably don't need to play a game based on 70 year old airplanes

I get a receipt by way of credit card bill every month that lists HTC specifically. And every time I go to log on and play. The game lets me
I dont need any other thank you notes to tell me that my subscription has been paid that month

HT and HTC does listen. Sometimes they implement suggestions. Sometimes they do not. Sometimes those suggestions that are implemented happen right away. Others arrive later. I dont know jack about writing "coad" but Im betting some changes require more then a few simple key strokes.

And they do want suggestions. Seems to me to be the entire reason for having a forum called "Wish List"

Far as Im concerned the websites fine. About the only thing I would like to see changed is to add checkboxes to the skins download section so one could simply select the skins they want and down load them en masse instead of one at a time. But other then that. I dont see it as needing any more wiz bang golly gee wow graphics.

Far as advertising. I AM just speculating. But did you ever consider that maybe HTC prefers to keep its client base growth manageable rather then having massive influxes of new players? Massive amounts of new players may mean massive amounts of more money. But it also means massive amounts of more headaches. Added staff to deal with the influx of business can also get out of hand to headache proportion in its own right.

Now thats just a speculation on my part. And just one of probably 100 possibilities.
But whatever the reasoning Im guessing HTC is content and comfortable with doing it their way. Just as I am comfortable doing business my way and you are yours.

And for whatever reason each of us will continue to do things in our businesses the way WE want to do them and not the way everyone else wants us to.

If you're still in the gaming industry, you can write it off as a tax expense.  I do and for the games, magazines and computer hardware I purchase, it's all a legal tax write off.
