Ah yes, the Porsche: nice car, but a bit stiff for conveying a passenger in proper comfort. A few years ago, this ol' cat had the perfect driving job, working for an up-market car-hire business. We decided a 'James Bond Night' would make for a fun Christmas party. We togged ourselves up, wheeled out the appropriate cars, collected the guests, and had a great time. Just after I'd delivered the last of them and before I got absolutely rat-arsed, a colleague took this pic:

The Penguin and the Bentley. I've lost most of the surplus pounds since then. 'Big Ben' was a bit of bus, the Aston-Martins were more fun - and the Porsches were best for blasting round the highways 'n' byways of ol' England, despite the jarring they gave my poor ol' spine.

Cheers!

Hydroplane aside that is about what I would expect, the soft compound of the drag radials grips the roads better in wet conditions.

(I wonder how many people would be surprised to hear I run 4.25 PSI in my Hoosiers?)

Strip

really? on the camaro, we ran 7.5 cold. on the drag radials, i ran about 22 on the street, and dropped that to anywhere between 15 and 18 for the track, depending on the conditions.

just to bring this back round OT again (and before CAP posts that pic of his camaro bustin loose on the strip ;)), heres a short clip of a GT3 driving in less than ideal conditions.

this one, unlike the OP, is a fully race-prepped GT3(996), in no way road legal. built from scratch by the RS division - seamwelded shell, hand built engine, gearbox, well everything really with race-spec components, not production stuff.

turn up the volume and enjoy :D

Just because the body is stock doesn't mean the rest of the car is...

the body probably isbn't stock either. i don't think there's any sanctioning body that'd let a car run that fast on its course without a roll cage....and there's gonna be body mods for that.

I've worked on this car.

It is a stock body with only a panel in the rear seat area removed to mount the new engine and boost management systems.

Eddie's car is a daily driver and he routinely drives up to 2000 miles to race at an event and then drives home with the trophy though he has split a couple of transmission cases at the drag strip.......but that's only 30 miles away.

If you like stangs, we have a couple daily drivers with 800hp on up to 1200hp.

Never claimed it was stock.

This is a "Run what you brung" thread and my posts are related to the thread title.

Congratulations on trying to spin this thread toward whatever point you are trying to make.

Of course, stock porsche 930s were doing 13 second quarter miles in the late 70s and the porsche 935 I worked on at electrodyne came with leather interior and power windows.

i meant the body/interior. if there's not a roll cage, then he's suicidal. if there is, then there were body/interior mods.
