Sim-Pit: Looking For A Chair

Hi,

Wonder what you guys use for a chair with CH Products Pro Pedals?

My current chair is an executive office chair on wheels, made by COSCO, Hamilton Cosco Inc. from Tenneessee.  This chair dates back to the 1960's I bet.  I got it free on clean-out on its way to the dump to my wife's job.

I was thinking about those plastic chairs that lean back a little bit, one-piece plastic chairs I had when I was in high-school in the 1960's.  I'd put a pillow on it.

I don't like my folding chair I use for playing guitar.

Staples doesn't have much selection. 

Where is a good source for chairs, preferably with a head rest?  Hey, A barber chair!

Stupid topic, I know.  Most you guys I bet sit on an old beer keg or a wooden box or a tree stump.

Oddly enough, I know for a lot of sim-pits, old (or new) car seats are pretty common. You can get them with the rails, which allows you to bolt it to the pit itself, yet still allows for adjustment forward/backwards for comfort. Newer ones have lumbar you can adjust as well. They have head-rests, and some clever people even figured out how to power up power seat adjustments!

So far, probably spent $2500 on new PC build.  Wife hasn't killed me, yet!  I am home most of the time, quit the bar and bolling scene and don't do National Guard weekends anymore, and quit doing deployments, so what the hey...

I had an 8-way powered Leather seat from a Chrysler Cordoba. Cost me $50. I figured a car seat had to be build pretty tough to put up with hundreds of thousands of miles of all size people climbing in and out, and still be comfortable. I used it for 5 years and never had any trouble with it.

75 cm Body Ball. Bear in mind the 6'10" frame makes a little difference as to which ball to use. It can support up to 1000 lbs and it will improve your posture and balance.

The old barber shop chair is a kick butt idea. You could mount your pedals on it and have it swivel on an actuator while you are in a gun turret to simulate the movement you see on screen....that would cause me to throw up violently!

it works on leverage. Pull the stick back the seat moves back. Requires no type of signal from the flight sim to move.
