Wow you are entirely correct!  That was my childhood exactly.    

Continue playing to win if you like, but understand playing for score and "winning" are not at all the same thing in this game.  You can have a great score and still get it handed to you by any decent stick 1v1.  You can also have a great score and be in no way helpful to your country.  (If your into that base capture stuff)

When you realize the difference, you will understand the sentiments of the "peanut gallery" in this thread.

That's fine,my squad would rank at the top of each list...What 18 or 19 straight tours "post witch hunt"...To which we were the only ones accussed and convicted as scapegoats for everyone else that had a shade..And actually it was good training for squadies...Kinda funny watching a squadie blow his wad on lancs and not get a kill ...But in our defence we didnt know better we had just started playing AH in 03 of 08, and thought this was a common practice..But strangly enough the kills per tour went way down across the board for all the so called aces.......... You had your scapegoat,get over it!!!!

Seems to me the bordom fumes are getting thick in the hangers again. When I was 5 I used to hang out in the repair hanger at the London Gliding Club, Dunstible Downs, while a Tiger Moth was towing my father aloft in a glider. Ahhhhh the dope fumes were entoxicating.

The only antidote for this condition is.......HiTech for COADs sake man release the next game update. When they get done with the mascots it'll be cannabalism sure as Shane used to club baby seals..............

I would like to see a "Hall Of Fame" type stat,maybe on a yearly basis to reconize the top 5 overall Aces in each cat. ... It could be real simple without all the stats..Have a all decade list or something, also include squads with the top ranked pilots each tour....
