How about having the CV Number painted on the side of the tower so that you could tell which CV it was, so you knew which port it went to.

To that point, sometimes I might be searching for a hidden CV over enemy territory in a light fast fighter.  In that case it could come in handy.  I do remember that thread from last year though, I know there was a discussion over the historical accuracy of the numbers, just don't remember what they said (don't care enough to find out).
