Online play?
« on: July 16, 2010, 02:27:12 PM »
I couldnt find anything about it, but can you play online during the trial? Because chasing around 4 planes in a circle int he practice arena is really boring.

Also, do i NEED to enter my credit card number to sign up for online?

NO you do not need to provide a CC for the two week trial.

YES you can play online during the trail, but it's a good idea to play offline a bit to get used to flying and shooting.
attack the drones offline from every angle, speed what-not, once you can just kill them at will, start the two week trail and then learn how easy it was to kill the drones :rofl

Download some offline missions..these are always fun..There is a problem with warp segments in some, but this one works.
Credit go to USRanger for this download.  I do not know how to do it one of the fancy ways. but copy and paste the URL
and download it from there ..       http://www.esnips.com/doc/bf0b25c0-8811-47ef-99ed-57ad7be6f18b/Runes-Rumble2--Mission

Not having to provide credit card info to sign up for 2-week online trial is a big reason I even downloaded it to try it offline.  I'm not a fan of having to provide financial info to sign up for a "free trial".  HTC is one of the few that does it right.  :aok

Use your free trial wisely!

as others have said practice offline, the clipboard is your friend, you can learn alot by going to the map keys and just looking at what is programable. Then there's joystick setup, this in itself has many, many options. So do yourself a favour and have all these things looked after so you can make the most of your free trial. :aok

Once you enter online play your free time starts, make a visit to the training arena and dont be afraid to ask for help or any questions. Then have fun and welcome to AHII.

Remember though that offline play shows only a tiny slice of what it's really like to play offline, and shouldn't be used to evaluate how much fun the game can be.

( Although I may not be one to talk, I may have the record in this department, actually.  I played Warbirds offline for over 3 years before ever venturing online.  I (no exaggeration) probably flew a thousand hours offline (the offline portion had a certain amount of moderately skilled AI, who always made the same mistakes).

I even joined a squadron - The EZTargets - before I ever signed up for online play. )

I flew offline for two weeks killing drones and reading all the support sites to learn about each aircraft and maneuvers. 2nd bit of advise, if any squad that seems desperate to have you join there is a reason. I suggest flying solo for awhile and play all aspects of the game. Then if you decided you would like to be part of one fly with them on their squad night so you can get a feel for them.
