Tank Gunsights
« on: July 16, 2010, 05:38:55 PM »
Would anyone else besides myself love to see historically accurate gunsights in all the tanks in game? Maybe a slightly altered zoom capability would suffice? Your opinions please!

I'd settle for an M4 sight that is reasonably close to the impact point lately.  I know I've been gone a while
but it felt like I was sticking a thumb up to judge ther wind last night.  Apparently we have the 76mm Brown Bess  :D

So instead of aiming by feel, we would have to guess the range, and adjust the sight?

Or would it be mostly a cosmetic thing?

+1 either way.

I'd rather it did require a bit of range finding but good gunners would still be able to go on feel anyway. The german triangular optics are quite nice but a bit superior to the t34s for example so it might mess up eny a bit.

Yes, the germans did have exelent gun sights. We would need an official test to see where the ENY would be after this. Just get some good gunners, give them a target, and see how many rounds it takes to get the range. It would have to be at various ranges too.

It would be nice to have a few more of the individual attributes of each tank in teh game.  Anything to make them *that* much more difference would be nice.

While I've only read about the differences in quality in lenses, I'd be willing to bet that the Soviets has optics similar to looking through a glass of iced tea.  Would could safely assume that the Germans had the best optics in the war.
