Changing bombers
« on: July 17, 2010, 03:11:07 AM »
Right now we have the ability for the gunner to change between bombers, so I figured why not let the pilot have the same ability?

So in case if your pilot is wounded you can switch to a different bomber.

Only works for the gunner not the pilot.

And thats the way it should be IMO.

I will go out on a limb here. Currently, the pilot can go into any gunner position on the lead plane, apply the Ctrl-1 thru 3 to select from that gunner position which drone he wants to sit in. In any gunner position on the drone, if he were to hit #1 (cockpit), that takes him back to the lead plane's cockpit, not the drone's cockpit. I am guessing he wants to fly the formation from the drone's cockpit.

If I am way off, I'll shut up. :uhoh

I'm not going to tell you to shut up, I'm just going to ask for the proof.

Up a formation, get it in the air, on auto, then just to gunner. Get me a screen shot (ext view, showing your position and both drones) then try to jump planes and get me a screen shot that shows you in one of the drones.

Just show me the proof and I'll accept that your correct.

Ghosth the Pilot of the bombers can switch between planes while he is in the gunners seat by using Ctrl 1-3, however, he cannot fly any other plane but the lead.

Show me the proof please!

Yes an "attached" gunner can switch planes, but until you show me the proof I refuse to accept that you are correct.

you can fly from the drone position also. get in the nose/chin gunner position and use what would be your rudder and it will bank your aircraft.

Yes I know this and use it all the time, however, I meat actually "flying" the aircraft not using an extended version of the autopilot.  :)

GHOSTH!!! I'm going to have to call out the Ghost Busters on your butt for making me use up my photo bucket bandwidth.  :D

Ok here we go, I'm flying some B17's to try and prove this point.

Here I am gunning from the nose gun on plane #1, notice the plane 1 in the upper left corner.

Here I am gunning from plane #2's nose gun.

Here I am gunning from plane #3's nose gun.

Finally here I am opening the bomb bay doors and banking the aircraft while in plane #3's nose gun. Secondly notice I'm flying offline so I'm not gunning for anyone.

I really don't know what else to do in order to prove this besides saying hop in the game and try it yourself.

 :salute Sir.

I think what Ghosth may be implying is : sure, you can switch between gunners, but why should you be able to fly one plane then jump to another because you made a mistake somewhere along the line?

It's too cheap and gamey, I think.

Ok, you convinced me.  :)

I don't think in the old days it was possible for the "pilot" to switch planes.
I could be wrong but I don't think so.

Thanks for taking the time to actually prove your point sir!
