Fished this morning...Cold...steam coming off the water. 40 degrees air temp. I used a PopR ....22 inches and I'm guessing about 7 lbs. She was heavy...and notice her tail. My PB was 6.8. She felt heavier...

I was watching Outdoor Oklahoma this morning on the local PBS channel, and they were fly fishing for Carp.  It was in an area where they stock a stream with trout part of the year.  They didn't claim to eat them, just fish for them for the challenge.

Went fishing today for the first time this year. I was on a little private lake fishing from a paddle boat.  I had a blast.  First run I used a Rebel Horsefly.  caught around 15 slab bluegills and about 4 10-12" largemouths.  Swapped kids at the dock and switched to a Rapala jointed minnow in brown trout pattern.  Hooked 3 more bass 1 being about 15 inches but she threw the hook at the boat.  Also got 5-6 more big slabs.  All this on an ultra-light spinning rig with 4 lb test.  The average size of the bluegills was 9 inches and close to a pound each.

I just got back from a mothers day fish-o-rama. Took the wife out and she caught way more than I did.

Nice fish guys.  :salute

Weather has been so crappy around here I just haven't been able to get out.  In the middle of a good stretch of weather finally, but using it to get my boat ready and the rain returns again later this week.  Hopefully will have the boat in before freaking June.   :cry

Planning on taking the kayak out tomorrow on the way home from work, hopefully I'll at least get a bite.  :pray

So this guy I fish with some decided we needed to try a spot. Saturday morning we were there bright and early and fished a while in this one area. We were shooting the breeze and I had caught a couple of smaller 2 pounders or so and things got quiet. I look around and he's gone. I thinking to myself damn he just left and didn't say a word.

SO I call him thinking I'll be able to give him a hard time about leaving and not catchin fish....when he answers he is all excited and tells me to come down the bank a couple hundred yards to these trees. I agreed and walked down there. He was all fired up that he had some big blow ups on his top water frog.

I set up just oppisette of where he was and on the 4th cast hook a hog. 6 pounds or so. Caught it on a popr. Next cast I hang a bigger one. Prolly 7. He is dropping crap left and right and running around the bank to get picture. Think he was more excited than I was a cussin me left and right for being able to catch the fish he's missing. It was funny. All this by 7:45 in the morning.

So I fish another 20 minutes or so before I had to go home to head off to grandsons tball game. Caught one more about 3 pounds and left it to him.

The whole thing was funny just because I go down to the spot and catch fish and he cant get anything.

Sunday morning he is all about going again and heads to the same spot i was in....not a nibble. I walked down the bank about 75 yeards and hang a 4.5 pounder and a 4 pounder....he is still fishing that same spot cussin me again....

:lol A regular ol' Crowd Pleaser, that RedTop :D Just remember one day the shoe will be on the other foot!

I went up Friday to the heavily-flooded Lake Champlain for the first time this year.  I was mainly there to spring clean, so didn't get to do much fishing, but had this 18.6lb Channel Cat pick up some chicken liver while I was cleaning debris from my yard (note: not waterfront, yard).  It put up one heck of a fun fight.  Made several deep, long runs, dove under the top of the stairs leading to where the dock should be, tried to wrap me on other lines, charged me so I had to reel in like mad, the works.  Definitely a blast, and I can understand why they're such popular gamefish :aok

The weather was pretty rough, but we finally got an hour or two of a nice patch, so dad and I launched the boat and decided to explore a few of our neighbor's yards and other random fields.  It took a little while to figure out where they were with all this new water, but we had some success.  Maybe half a dozen bass or so between us in the hour and a half we were out there.  Nothing huge; mostly between 2-3lbs, but fun on light tackle:

I'm heading up with my wife's (well, guess mine too) young cousins for Memorial Day, and hope to put them on some fish.  The bite seemed pretty good given some very strange water, so if it goes down a bit, we might be in for a great time :)

Let's get some Musky, Pike, Shark, Gar, Walleye and Crappie photos in this thread. Catfish and Bass are great, but two of God's best are going to soon make this a thread of mine's bigger.  :lol

Definitely some good times to be had fishing.

I'm not trying to detract from RedTop or Vudak at all, btw. They are obviously very good fishermen, but if you have photos of other game fish or questions or stories, the thread could use them as well!  (This goes for everybody).
Fish on! :rock

Hey don't blame us for bumping a bump-worthy thread! Plenty of people are contributing or want to be, just half of them are flooded out for a few more weeks, and the other half keep forgetting their camera!

Give it a few weeks for the rains to die off and I'm sure we'll see more posters :aok

You had to bring up the rains...  :cry :cry :cry

Lol. I was just saying that if anyone had old stories or old photos of stuff to post on here, then they should do so to compliment the slew of trophies you guys are bringing in.  :aok

Well today I picked up a Bass Hunter 2 Man Bass boat....just gonna use it on the local small park lakes and ponds. 30 pound trolling motor and a lil fish finder tomorrow. I paddled it today around a place I frequesnt..caught 3 small ones but BROKE it in with some fish on its maiden RedTop voyage.

Gonna be fun to use that when I cant get my big boat out.

This is what it is in case some dont know...
