It's all about the rounds..
« on: May 17, 2000, 12:43:00 PM »
Hhhm just got answered in a help/training post where I was wondering how to refuel and reload or repair. It's not in the game dagnammit!
It feels realy weird to have flown for an hour or so, dodged bogeys and land your plane with the wheels on fire and then magically.. *poof* gone is the plane.. new plane ready..
hhhmm.. am I the only one who finds this weird?
I mean there are so many post about little things that aren't completely historical but this is completely bogus and I haven't seen anyone complain about it yet.
Anyone know if there are any plans to implement refeuling/rearming and repairing at airfields? If not , how would we like to see this implemented..

Okay, you can fill out reports, grab a sandwich, then sit around and slap mosquitoes  for half an hour while the crew readies your plane for the next sortie.

Maybe we could have a 'pit lane' or something     where about 10 guys rush out and do a 20 second service (and even wipe the mossies off the canopy) then you can race out with supercharger breathing flames (to make up for the fact that we cant race out with a HUGE wheelspin and smoke and tire marks)

But seriously i guess an option would be to taxi to a hangar and come to a complete stop and wait 10 seconds or something then you can roll again. Not sure of the value of this but is this what you are on about?

That's what I mean Spatula.. I mean everything else seems to work..I can even do flips on the airstrip..but the service sucks.

It just hit me that it's the satisfaction.. I've kept my bird in one piece for a couple of kills , manage to land it and the only reward I get for this is a full score instead of 2/3's. Dunno, I kinda get attached to a plane and it opens up all kinds of possibilities. People could brag about flying their planes for 3 weeks straight.. if an airfiel hangar is gone .. I could still land and refuel but no ammo or repairs...It would add a lot to the depth of the game in my opinion. Shees.. I could go on and on and on.. but I ran out of beer.

I like this kind of idea.

Land ->taxi to a hangar ->complete stop->refuel

 25% wait  5 sec
 50% wait 10 sec
 75% wait 15 sec
100% wait 20 sec
E-Tank +  10 sec

From just the point of view of Re-fuel
"waiting time"is very interesting factor for game play.

Same intercepters or defending units can re-up immediately after killed from base again and again when you attaking base.
The only way is closing. There is less meaning for fighter sweap before bomber arrive.

However this waiting time makes meanig of sweap compare of current system.
(more chanse to bring Goon, increasing of survivability without ammo and low fuel rtb, etc)

also can avoid needless vulting like blood suker   oh just joke

Well it's certainly more interesting then what we have now with the fast respawns 'n all. I must have been hectic back in those days..refuelling while there are hogs screaming over your head.. cool. Maybe a little stiffer flack would help there.

Maybe we should keep landing and towering an option and leave it up to the pilots if they want to do a hangar visit. Not sure if this should involve more credits or whatever. But I bet that all the aces out there would def opt for the hangar.

I like the idea, specially zeiram`s with the time delay

That way we could get even longer `Victory x` streaks, since the ones we have today only counts for one trip.
(And in my case maxes out in 1 victory normally   )

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.

Hhhm maybe there should be a fixed amount of time per gallon/liter or ammo round. This could even be adjusted historicaly, maybe the spit was a drag to refuel.. dunno?
This way you can choose yourself when you wanna stop and take off.. just watch those gauges run up and your off again..
