gunpad for 190's

I saw in several places (and other sims) that 190's (i think A5 model) had the chance to add gunpods below the wing, 2 X 20 mm guns in each gunpod. They were used against buffs mainly b17's. Is any way to add them to the game?

Fw190A-5/U12-Bomber destroyer, armed with 2x MG 151/20 cannons adn 2x (7.92mm) MG17's, supplemented by 4x MG 151/20 in two WB 151A twin gun containers scabbed under the wings.

Off course the plane's performance would be lower in general, but 8 X 20 mm guns, that would be nasty ...

2 x 7.92mm machine guns and 6 x 20mm MG151 cannons.   No A-5/U-12's please.

Cuz HTC adds only aircraft as they left the factory, field mods are not accepted... sadly cuz this A5 looks amazing for buff hunting, strafing and GV hunting.

Anyway...

Those are factory gondolas - and arrived that way. The irony -many of the gondolas were "field-modded" - OFF.

It looks like you're correct. I've confused statements like the following (from the "Birds of Prey" site):

Unfortunately, the Bf 109 G-10 would usually reach the front line with factory-installed Ruestsatz armament kits.

with "factory-installed". It's not the same thing - and the variety of ruestsatz kits are truly bewildering. I also read an interview from an old Luftwaffe pilot, Franz Stigler, who said, in response to a question about the gondos:

"Oh, I never… I hated them!!  I never had them on my airplane.  As soon as I got a new airplane… I say, “That’s a damn part, off with them!”...Made it sluggish, you know. "


I took his "new airplane" to mean new with factory-installed gondos. As I admit, I have yet to see any evidence anything called a "kit" was installed at the werke.

So, valid correction...

Not on the 109's PJ. The 20mm gun pods were factory built for them, but installed in the field.

So technically they were field mods, because they were not modded in the factory, but modded onto the aircraft in the field.
