An ideo to prevent "spies"
« on: July 22, 2010, 03:21:47 AM »
We all know there are the dirt bags who are so sorry and lazy that they would rather spy than up an airfield and make a good defense.

Well, what if the game would Log your IP so that 2 accounts on the same IP (not same computer) will be unable to fly for different countries.
Note: Even if you have 3 computers on the same network - each one will have a different IP.

I know this will not completely wipe it out, but it would help. I mean, not every single one of the twerps can have 2+ comps right? :x

You could also log MAC addresses.

I get tired of upping an NOE mission, or going to hit a random field with my squad and then suddenly - hey look! 30 Fighters! 4K higher - headed right to us! :airplane:

------

As for the people who say "Deal with it yada yada yada" I've dealt with it, I'm just looking to make the game more enjoyable. "It's fun for the spies"  - well, last I checked - Spies were shot in WWII..... :devil

And yeah, I make sure to write down the names of players that I see up the field I'm at, then disappear and later I see them on another country.
I keep a list, and I'm checkin' it twice....because I like to read...and...play scrabble? idk - it's 4AM - I'm tired :<  :joystick:

Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.

You dont need to have two pc running,  all you need is a squadie on the other country giving you info, which you give back in return.  nothing more nothing less.

Yep that's pretty much it.

I don't think anyone would actually pay extra $15 to spy.

So you want HTC to write a bunch of code to block computers on the same connection from playing on different sides? So what about family's that might like to play the game IE like father and son who want to square off against one other? Going to block them?

I honestly don't care about spies and if someone wants to pay $30+ a month so they can spy on the other countries then let them. All that money goes to making Aces High better and adding new features. Yeah it may suck if your mission gets busted but hey, that's life.

You'd be surprised at the lengths some people goto to "win" at this game.

Simply don't worry about spies in the first place.

I agree. Although I'm amazed at the lengths some will go to take a base or find a CV in a stupid video game sometimes. I have to laugh  :lol

 :rofl

We also know of fraidy cats who are "so sorry or lazy" to take a base without trying to sneak it.  Maybe one of your fearsome gang went above 65 feet.
A flashing base with no enemy GV spawn and no red dots is a dead giveaway.  Perhaps, they were putting up the "good defense" you speak of.

Spoken like true spies.     :noid

:neener: Na, I don't think it's happening that much, and I'm not worried about the little that it is.  It can be annoying at times though, I understand that.  I'm guessing that not all of those NOE busts are a spies fault, but more likely someone making a mistake in the mission.  A dar with no radar icon is one thing, but a flashing or bouncy dar bar, dead giveaway.

I used to enjoy flying both with and against my nephew when he was much younger.

I'm sure someone else is doing the same with his son/nephew/cousin, I'd hate to see some paranoid nail biter ruin it for them,

Personally, I'm in favor of anything that makes NOE missions in AH as dangerous and difficult as they were in RL.

You're giving my Marine Corps a bad name. Sounds like another "my noe mishun got narc'd out and I need to cry about it". Yeah some people have more money than sense and pay for shade accounts, so what? Crying about them is as lame as trying to run NOE mishunz with a 65 foot radar deck.
