Muttley
I gave it a try. I actually already had a Wav file editor. Came with my sound card. I reduced the sounds of some of my engines, and it work! thanks.
Only thing I notice is all other sounds seems to have gotten quieter as well. I maxed out the environment and effects sliders but it didn't help.
Oh well, at least this is an improvement.  Thanks again.

Please, use Mutley with only one T, otherwise people will think I'm "the other guy", which gets me alot of flak,  and I don't want that.   :aok

You might tweak those other sounds also, decrease vol for some of them, increase for others .

From now on we'll have to live with it...

I hope that, with time, all will be fixed.

Sorry about that Mutley.

Most of the sounds must be in the sounds.res file. Can't touch those. Too bad we have to expend all this effort to fix something that wasn't broke in the first place.

Thanks again for your help Mutley, it is appreciated.

Well there are many "sound packs" available from the AH Community.

In those packs one may find most of the desired wav files.

Just edit those and drop them in AH "sounds" folder.

I donīt give up easily.  :)
