Hurricane Mk.IIB
« on: July 25, 2010, 01:37:19 AM »
When the hurricanes get updated I would like to see this variant, it is essentially a MkIID, but with the extra pilot armour the D had removed, and with 12 .303's , I can see this fitting into the hurricane line up as a plane that is faster then the Mk.I  a bit better armed (though not by much), lighter then the D, but about the same as the C, but then having a higher ENY then the C, it would give us hurri pilots something a bit more competitive when the eny goes up :) as a dog fighter then the Mk.1 , not saying that the Mk.1 isn't, but being fuel injected, it would give never players who might be weary of flying the Mk.1 a better option, I guess it would sort of be like the P47M of the hurri's, would see lots of use (by hurri standards) wouldn't be too hard to add into the game with the update, and above all, it would just be one other thing that AH has that no other flight Sim has :)

thanks for reading :)

This would be a fun plane to fly.  Anyone know if it carried ordnance or not???

Twelve 303s?  If you shoot someone down with that thing, he will be hearing the pings well into the next sortie.  :lol

Loon, the Mk IIB had the same ordinance options as the Mk IIC

Pilots said the outer four guns reduced maneuverability quite a bit and many removed them.

At karnak, 109 pilots said the same thing about the gondos, so it could be implemented as a choice weather or not to fly the 8 gun version, or the 12 gun version, and with the 8 gun, you would have a better Mk.1 due to it being able to pull neg -g's

Backwards.  8 gun = no negative G.  12 gun = less maneuverability.

Screwed either way.   ;)

no being able to chose and 8 gun package for the IIB, it would then be a faster Mk.I while being able to pull negative G's, sort of like the gondolas for a 109, but the 12 gun would not lose incredible amounts of manuverability, as it would still be lighter then the D, and the D can supprise some people in a dogfight

Russians removed the four inboard .303's and commonly replaced them with 2 x 12.7mm UBS (as found in the Yak)
