I like it the price for what you get.  What would it be if you ordered all the parts off the net individually?

Is that from Ken Strohm aka KenJR? Seriously.

p.s. dump the modem for a non-Winmodem type.

It looks pretty good actually.  (Pay a little extra to get a regular modem though.)

Do you have a regular CD-Rom drive in there as well?

Also, I prefer the IBM drives to the Quantums, but that's not a big deal.

Actually, I was just doing a bit of trolling to see what kind of value people would place on such a system.

I am considering building systems as a side income.

Not bad for the labor, setup and shipping. The price Sounds good! Whats the warranty? Are they local to you? These are important.

If he still does it is one that I *highly* DO NOT recommend.

No.
I am keeping tabs on the lowest prices available as priced on the internet (many sites).  Most of the time I am digging up better deals than pricewatch or some of the other are finding.
What would happen at first is that I would order the stuff, assemble, format, install, test, run 12 hours and ship.
The cost would decrease if I had 10-15 people order because I could buy in larger quantities and pass along the savings.

Warranty would be covered by the individual hardware components.
The purpose in the 12 hour run is to ensure that all of the components are functional past the point where they would fail due to Manufacturing defects.
Anything else is likely fixable via ph. or email support (lose cards, mouse plugged in wrong, etc.).
I am totaly against sucking $ out of people, so I'm not about to tell someone to get screwed if their machine goes bad.
I believe that a loss of $ to make a person happy is better in the long run.
So I would be inclined to take a machine back if it can not be fixed over the phone.
Of course, I could get screwed myself if a guy wanted to smash it with a bat first, but that is a risk I have to take.

I have a nice clean bench area and ESD supplies where I can build 4 at a time.
I can only test 1 at a time for now due to lack of monitors, but that can change.

I worked 4 years in Electronics Manufacturing, so I have experience in the necessary areas to make it work.
I would just need clients and time.

I don't want to use up any more of HTC's BBS space for this, so if you like, you can email me or visit my personal bbs.

CC. My above post was along the lines of a price for a system I thought you were buying from someone else. I think I was all screwed up here. I'm all set personally, but I'll definately check out your site.

If I wasn't into Electrical Engineering, that's what I would be doing most likely.  It's SO easy, and you can make a lot of money doing it.  (I build systems for friends/relatives. I've done 3 with the A7v, and all have worked perfectly.  I haven't tried the a7v133 yet though.)
