Spitfire IX
« on: July 29, 2010, 12:56:37 AM »
Was in the DA having some fun with GOODBYE and DrSpek, I was in the plane just watching. Decided to try and make something out of the duel and came up with this. If you are wondering DrSpek did win. :)

Can your machine support anti aliasing? It would help smooth of the sharp edges.

if you are using ATI or Nvidia make sure the gfx card options for AH are set to "application controlled".   Then on the login splash screen you will have some video options.  There is a slider for Anti - aliasing push that across to max.

The other thing is to download and install the hi-resolution texture pack.  You can find that in the download section of the website.   In the same video options screen you should now have an option to increase the maximum texture size to 1024 and after this last update now 2048.  Make sure you have quite a bit of ram to use this though.  probably best to have over 2 gig ram.

The most noticeable things to make sure AA is on and working are the radar circles on your clipboard map they should be smooth and if you look at the text on the chalkboard it should be clear as day.  Also cockpit / hangar anything curves should look much smoother.

In the advanced graphics tab in game for extra sweetness check the detailed terrain and shadows.  If your machine is really uber go for the local water reflections also.  You can look at your FPS by hitting Ctrl + I  or Alt + I cant remember.  If your FPS drops significantly below your monitors refresh rate then it isn't going to cope with those settings.

Oh and Spek gets trained by the best.  ;)

Something else you can do when looking to take a shot from a film...go offline and max your settings....close this and when you get to the first screen to AH click on the video settings and put the slider to max...close it down and go into film..you will now have maxed out settings whether you can play the game full on or not.....
I know this isn't a spit but this was done on a PC I use at work which is very basic AMD sempron processor and on board ATI Radeon X200 graphics........with out all the fruit going I can manage 25 frames with this puppy... :lol :lol
Edit:   Oh yes and remember to change things back before you go in game and you start screaming about a frame rate of 2 ...hahaha

sorry for not putting up a spit but these are the only examples I could find right now...(plus I don't think I have one of a spit)

The 82nd is allowing their pilots to fly Spits now? When Talon gets back hes gonna skin some hide!! :rofl  Amaazee, just a quick FYI, your plane has only one engine, and one tail, When i was with the 82nd, it was a 2 engine and 2 tail minimum  :D
