err I16?

time to unleash a beastly late war monster to make everyone cry perk the Yak-3!    it was made in the thousands and should be here.

The yak 9U is a good fighter but it is missing that last little bit of finesse that the yak - 3 would provide.

That is one, surly there are more.

waiting for the NN Yak 3.

To be honest though, the yak-9 is already pretty good, and teh yak-3 will not improve wepons.  So anyone who is good in the yak-9 will really enjoy the lighter more powerful version.

Yeah, the Yak 9 just doesn't have the climb rate I'm used to.  It's not bad but the Yak 3 has a great climb rate at lower altitudes.

"Not the climb rate I'm used to?" My goodness man, what do you fly.  If the Yak-9 had a bigger clip it'd be thisclose to uber IMO. Yak-3 would be super-duper uber and likely own pretty much anything else in the MA if handled properly.  I'm afraid the short clip is a good thing in the long run, proper ammo capacity would turn it into the hated love child of the Spixteen and Pony.  I love the 9U but would love to fly the -3 in Niemen colors. :pray

A Yak-3 is one third of a Yak-9, and three times a Yak-1.  We can take a Yak-7 from a Yak-9 and get a Yak-2, then add one Yak-1.  So, all we really need is a Yak-1 and we can make whatever we want from that.

I still prefer bison.

Yak 3 105-PF is lighter but less powerful than the 9U. It has a slightly shorter wingspan than all the other Yaks and a shorter nose than both the yaks we currently have in game. It has no armoured front glass. Forward visibility (indeed visibility all round) should be the best we have in game of any ac.

4000ft./min. or bust!  Nah, just saying, in FA (at least back when I played) there were 3 undisputed Kings of Climb:  The Spit XIV, Bf109K-4 and the Yak 3.  Those 3 had no problem leaving all others in their dust in the vertical.  The Yak 9U in this game climbs well but it is not in the same class and can't be flown quite the same.  Not saying its climb is inadequate, it just isn't what I'm used to in a Yak.    :)

With the Yak9U once you are at 300 true airspeed and pull up you can maintain 3500-4000 zoom for almost 5k feet. If you dive to about 400-450 true and pull up you can zoom almost 10k. You cannot engage in any radical turns and expect to keep your E. Instead fly the Yak9U fast while makeing diving passes and regain your altitiude. Look up Channz for the more exotic manuvering he is so good at in the Yak9U. The Yak9U is a bit like flying a smaller poni with flaps that come out at a much lower speed than the P51's.

When I want to BnZ, I rather planes that have lots of firepower so the defelction shots count (like teh Jug, Hog, 190s).  With the Yak, I have to get close to make those bullets count and thats whats so fun about the plane.

Sounds like a math equation.
