Afghan Document Leaks
« on: July 29, 2010, 11:52:27 AM »
I read in the Wall Street Journal today that the wiki leaks of the secret military documents included afghan informants names, fathers names as well as their hometown.

Now the Taliban can seek reprisals on those who helped out.

How irresponsible is that, to publish that kind of material?  It's not like their is any gain to the public at large with that sort of information.

Personally I hope they find the traitor who leaked it in the first place...and hang him.

I heard the opposite, that they kept out the names of informants to protect them.  But I don't have a source handy for that.

And they have a suspect, and he doesn't sound too smart if you heard what screen name he used.  :uhoh

They won't hang him. They quit killing traitors. I imagine to protect the traitors higher up the ladder.

oops, forgot to check the quote.

if the mil didnt perpetually lie and coverup there would be no need for leaks, and consequently no security risks.

So far, it seems the authenticity and chain of custody for these documents remains questionable.
