9 years and loggin off
« on: August 04, 2010, 06:20:42 AM »
I know dont let the door hit my bellybutton smack, but its been a while since i have had a good fight, the good old boys are all gone and the new upgrades only seem to make it worse.

I didn't play aces for the graphics i loved the net code, but there comes a time when the tactics have become just boring.
I only played aces the last year or so for FSO but its not wroth the money just for FSO.
Its a shame the promised arena like fso didn't ever work out, but instead we got ww1 and i have to say that was the most boring 5 minutes of my life.

I had alot of fun with some every good pilots and learnt alot about history of ww2 but in the end i cant find a good fight and the whole massive town needing to many to capture with noe or without just sucks, the game seems more and more arcade like by the day.

I have logged in for over 9 years and meat alot of nice people, the game was so good for so long that i lost girlfriends to it and lost many rounds at the pub. I am not just having a squeak but the only way i can say that i think its become a waste of time is not to pay the bill, i do feel for people that cant afford to pay the bill and thats problem the main reason the good fights are gone.

I would say to the owners of the game, your net coding was the best i have ever seen but the upgrades were down grades for the last 2 years.

I have had so many fun hours but now its just a waste of my time.

over and out
mijoie, scooner, drifts and many other call signs i held.

Good luck, and keep an open mind to coming back.  The off hours are always the hardest to balance - something that's a tremendous improvement at peak times can be disruptive off-peak.

Sorry tongs, i did just go for a smoke, but this game is giving me lung cancer of late to much going for a smoke instead of being immersed in the game.
The ABU was a good squad nothing personal as you know, i have just had enough and need time out or maybe time over.
Take care and be nice to the sheep.

<S> Gastly, i am sure that if i could play peak then it many have been an upgrade (maybe) but yes the off peak times now are dead and just no fun.
The maps are so large for 50 players and there is no way any capture will happen so noone teams up due to the fail.

Off peak the maps with 50 players on it seems to be turning into a GV time as very few planes are up and the GV bases flash alot, but aces high to me was a plane game and i hate Gvs i would play tanks high if that was what i was into.
I know things must move forward and you are probably right that peak times this game may be alot of fun if i could play then.
I do live in the past a bit as i remember when 100 to 150 players was a normal night but its been shrinking by the year to the point where offline maps have 30 times the players on being 4 drones per base.

I think the off hour times are in for a much needed boost.

I saw 8 new JP players on Knights yesterday afternoon from FA.  Just need to make sure they all don't go flocking to Bish otherwise the ENY will really be scary.

I will educate them in the best way I know how.   HT needs to have a single JP forum so that they can talk to each other on this BBS and let Rolex moderate it.

:D :t love the fact that Bish learned all the high eny planes so as to kick butt when outnumbering the knights and rooks combined :aok

I guess I'm lost...the video upgrades are awesome and the town upgrades were long overdue.  I've been on for only two years but it always seemed strange to me that one player could take a base on his own if he timed it right and was left unopposed for about 12 minutes.  THAT is an arcade game lacking any combat realism...he is trusting that no one is watching the town and base flash.

Now?  Its perfect...you almost have to have aerial support for eyes-on all the many buildings in town to take down because its almost impossible to see them all from the ground.  That is how ground combat works..then and now.  I think the changes have been wholesale perfect.  It sounds like the peak time issues are the reason for no fights and now that you can't take a base alone or with just a couple of players, its no longer attractive.  I would feel that way too.  Hope you come back.

^ This.

I've only been here a year and a half and the game is 100% improved, IMHO. Getting better with each update, my only complaint is my crappy computer is getting older and less able to cope every day, but that's no one's fault but my own.

Thought I saw a few more "rising suns" out there. Oscars and Tojos will need to be traded in for Zeros and Franks.

:salute Take a couple of months R&R from AH. Don't say "for good". Immerse yourself in something else for a bit, perhaps.
Anyway, Best Wishes.
