Electric RC Plane Question: Motor mount angle?
« on: August 05, 2010, 11:01:11 PM »
Is it 2 degrees to the right to compensate for torque?  Reason I ask is I recently purchased an FMS 109 and I noticed the prop angle is slightly to the left.  Before I maiden her I would like any tips anyone has to offer to know for sure.  Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Here is the plane I'm talking about.  http://www.xtremehobby.ashop.com.au/p/1135191/fms-bf-109-with-servoless-retracts-and-3-blade-propeller.html

You want 2 degrees down and right for a starting point see how she flies then adjust . A question are you new to the hobby ? Is this your first plane ? Be sure CG is right too . I just saw you said left . I would not fly this plane yet kung fu . The proper angle is 2 degrees right to offset torque and p factor . The down pitch is to keep it level as most planes are way overpowered .
