What do you put into a barrel to make it lighter?

Helium?

What's to say that he didn't drill the hole to sink a screw into a piece of hardwood?  If he didn't want the hole there, why drill it?   :D

Heheh. That riddle is an old one. I heard it on a TV show I used to watch when I was a kid. Called "Are you afraid of the dark?" on Nickelodeon.

I am not man-made, but bore from his evil.
Only the Dawn can fix me.
I cannot yearn, I cannot die.
But I'm highly visible to the naked eye.

This one should be fun.

good one :headscratch:

Oil  :rofl

When I saw "the Dawn" it made me think of the Dawn dish washing soap commercials with all the little ducks, birds, and the like.  But the more I read, hey I guess I could be right.  Not man made but bore from his evil, being that we are drilling it out of the ground for consumption, and it can't yearn nor die, and it's highly visible once it leaks out.

We have a winner!!!

I was about to post something to help you guys along. But this is it. Oil, and he actually got "the Dawn." Where Dawn is capitalized due to a brand name. Very good.

Lint?

The Hobbit reference... Riddles in the Dark chapter, that's how Bilbo beat Gollum, by accident.
