No, the plane received the paint job in June of 1945.

Yeah, I believe it was a war bond drive scheme; the aircraft went on tour in the States eventually.  Apparently from the book, it went to Paris first.

Yeah.  It was a post war "Tour" aircraft showing off the victors equipment.  It, with a P-51 from the 4th FG were parked by the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

In other words, it didn't see combat.
