« on: August 10, 2010, 01:06:45 AM »
I wish people would post their settings that work on their own video cards.  that way the rest of us noobs, can use that as a guide.  for example i got a g35 headset but dolby surround doestnt realy work.  my headset is supposed to support it, but sounds are crappy.  have latest drivers.  so guys please post your setting for your own sound cards.

Sound cards, video cards or USB headsets? You're talking in circles there.

You do realize there are several other factors that influence how the hardware performs in the game?

I don't recall seeing a Dolby setting in under the sound preferences. How many of the other compatibility settings have you tried?

Remember to make sure the OpenAL drivers are up to date, very important for Vista and W7 users.  For XP users it's not so important but still recommended to make sure the OpenAL drivers are up to date for XP.

My sound settings are rather basic, I'm using a X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card set to 5.1 sound.  Because I'm using 5.1 head phones, I had to down grade my audio from 7.1 to 5.1 in Windows.  In game, I've got the sound setting set to EAX 4.0.

thanks for the info akak, i had removed mine since i didnt know what they were or who installed them.  sound is so much better, i still have problems telling which direction its coming, but at least it is clear now.  I can hear about 4 or 5 different engines as they fly by me.
