No. It was a big E. EXPERIENCED in combat. Bombers did more to destroy the Luftwaffe than allied fighter pilots.
Gonna have to go with Rino here. Regardless of which side they flew for, the general consensus among the WW2 pilots was there were stages a pilot went through from newb, to vet to the 'twitch' where their effectiveness in combat went down and the risks they took were greater. More time in combat did not mean better. Look at photos of Boelcke and Von Richtofen at the beginning and end of their combat lives. Von Richtofen was more then likely a victim of too much time in combat, breaking his own rules. Photos of Merseilles show much the same
Those that survived were the exceptions to the rule and in many ways products of where they flew.
Credit the war of attrition on all fronts, mixed with the experienced RAF and USAAF pilots and their numbers and the LW guys didn't have much of a chance. The bombers were the bait, the fighters cleared the air
Respect those LW guys who survived all those combat hours and the luck/skill needed to do so. Don't make em supermen as they weren't. Given the same role an RAF pilot, USAAF Pilot, Russian pilot, Japanese or whoever would have accomplished the same things had they been forced to fly never ending combat without a break.
